Wheat & Corn Soft Tacos Shells

Freshly made tortillas taco shells are such a treat. You have now the chance to skip the high costing store-bought tortillas and make your own tortillas at home using only four ingredients! Store-bought tortillas are great, and there are tons of delicious options available. Make them yourself and they will be a lot more healthy, cheap and delicious.

Soft shell tacos are the authentic and traditional Mexican taco. You can stuff them with what ever you like. They usually contain something grilled or fried and topped with finely chopped hers and white onions. Eating tacos is not only delicious and tasty but also nutritious and practical.

Recommendations for filling could be guacamole, fresh salsa, protein-rich taco filling, lettuce, tahini dressing and coriander. The fun thing about these tacos are that you can experiment with lots of fillings. In Mexico they also put potatoes, hibiscus, grilled mushrooms and lots more.

Ingredients

8 dl. Wheat flour

3 dl. Corn flour

4 dl. Water

1 tbsp. Salt

Instructions

Mix the 2 flours and salt in a bowl.

Add water and mix well.

Shape into one big ball with the palms of your hands.

Let is rest in a covered bowl for approximately 30 min.

Lay out a thin layer of flour on you countertop so the dough won’t stick to it.

Shape around 25 small dough balls. Afterwards make them flat with a rolling pin.

Warm up a non-stick frying pan and fry them on both sides on medium heat.
