When you as an athlete need a way to get more healthy calories, a smoothie is way better than a quick processed energy bar. A boost of energy can a well-made smoothie give you! At the same time, you get lots of nutrition, minerals and vitamins in one and same glass.
Full of Power
In this smoothie we are using raspberries as a main ingredient. These berries are a immune-boosting, which also helps on recovery. Raspberries will give you long lasting energy because of its quality carbohydrates. Raspberries also has a high content of dietary fiber, which fills the stomach well.
In smoothies, raspberries go well with carrots! The carrot is rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, which promote digestion and regulate blood sugar. In fact, carrots also benefit the skin and lung function – and they are also rich in calcium and potassium, which promote the body’s salt balance and boost the immune system.
Bananas gives good nutrition and a good smoothness to the smoothie. Flax or chia seeds are a really good omega-3 source. Dates has big health benefits and will make the smoothie nice and sweet. Coconut water has lots of helpful electrolytes.
Ingredients
3 Bananas
150 g Frozen Raspberries
1 Medium Carrot
1 Tbsp. Flax seeds or Chia seeds
4 dates or 1 tbsp. Cane Sugar
1 Large Glass of Water, or Coconut Water
Instructions
Wash carrots, if they look nice on the skin then keep it on – if they look bad remove it.
Remove the seeds from dates.
Combine all ingredients in a good blender and blend for approx. 45 sec.
